Diane Coe Dercher
Diane has been an advisor with WMA since 2011. She has worked in the financial industry since 1990, including over 18 years employed with Waddell & Reed Investment Management Co. in Kansas City, where she served as the firm’s Chief Economist and Senior Vice President. Diane graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Kansas with a dual major in mathematics and economics. She also received a MBA in finance from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. Diane is a Certified Financial Planner (CFP). She was recognized by Ingram’s Magazine in the Class of 2006 Forty under Forty, the most influential and accomplished leaders of business, government and community in Kansas City. She has actively volunteered in community organizations, including Children’s Mercy Hospital, Children’s Center for the Visually Impaired, various Animal Shelters, and her children’s school and activities. Diane lives in Kansas City, Missouri with her husband and two children. She enjoys watching her kids play in ice hockey, volleyball and lacrosse, and spending time with family and friends.
Matthew D. Ison
Matt joined WMA in 2007 after ten years with American Century Investments where he served as a Senior Analyst in the firm’s Portfolio Advisory Group. Matt holds a BS from The University of Iowa and a MBA from Rockhurst University. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder and a member of the CFA Institute. In his spare time Matt likes reading and attending Kansas City T-bones games. Matt resides in Overland Park, Kansas with his wife and two children.
Kevin S. McGrew
Kevin is President and owner of WMA. He has been in the financial services industry since 1987, and prior to that spent eight years in public accounting. He has a BS in Accounting from the University of Denver. Kevin is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and has been accredited as a Personal Financial Specialist (PFS) by the American Institute of CPAs; he is also a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder, a member of the CFA Institute, and a Certified Financial Planner™ professional. He served on the Charles Schwab Advisor Network Advisory Board in 2000-01. Kevin currently serves on the Catholic Charities of Northeast Kansas Snow Ball Patron Committee. He lives in Leawood, KS with his family and enjoys cycling and motorsports.
Paul L. Watkins
Prior to joining WMA in 2000, Paul spent 10 years with American Century Investments, as an analyst/manager in the Financial Research Department. Paul has a BS in Finance from Kansas State University and is a Certified Financial PlannerTM professional. Paul enjoys doing volunteer work through his Church and organizations such as Habitat For Humanity. Paul lives in Overland Park with his wife and has two grown children. He enjoys golf, tennis, skiing, and spending time with family, friends, and his dogs.
Our Director of Client Operations, Cindy Glenn, has a wide range of industry experience, including her role at WMA since 1999. Her focus on client communication and delivery of superior customer service is essential to the client experience. Cindy ensures that all client services are executed on time and with utmost accuracy, including the establishment and maintenance of client accounts; compilation and completion of client, custodian and firm documentation; execution of client tasks such as asset transfers, trading, report preparation and completing charitable gifts. Cindy lives in Lenexa, Kansas with her husband and has three grown sons.
Christopher M. Wurst
Chris joined WMA in 2015, serving the role of Advisor Support. In this role, Chris is responsible for maintaining the analytical components of client portfolios, as well as managing the firm’s social media presence. Prior to joining the firm, he worked in marketing and operations in the sports industry, as well as a family business in Kansas City. Chris graduated from Duke University with a BS in Economics and a certificate in Markets and Management. Currently, Chris is studying to become a Certified Financial Planner™ through the University of Missouri-Kansas City, and expects to receive the CFP designation in 2018. He resides in Overland Park, KS with his wife and two children, and enjoys spending time with family, traveling, supporting his favorite teams, and reading.
